I had a great day of riding today at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park at a free event hosted by the Moose Jaw Cycling Club (formerly the Moose Jaw Pavers). The Buffalo Pound fatbike trails are in great shape despite the warm weather (but they won't last long!). I biked 30 km of trails (including riding a few sections twice) with about 615m of elevation in total. Most of the trails were nice and firm, but I did drop my tire pressure a fair bit for the mid-afternoon portion.
The weather was great, -5°C at 10am when I started, up to a high of +4°C (recorded in Moose Jaw), calm with bluebird skis. My face still feels flushed hours later which means I probably have a bit of sunburn.
Buffalo Pound is only about 25 minutes north of the Trans Canada Highway. If you are in Saskatchewan or just passing through, I highly recommend checking out the trails year-round.
