  1. They are far better than the bike I started on in the 90s. Many youTube people have reviewed them. The main thing is that they are put together buy some working at Walmart. If you do get one check every bolt and screw. Make sure you get the correct size.

No. Like the others said, you should go to a bike shop. I don’t agreeing with going whole hog into a hobby and spending 1000s out of the gate, but “buy once, cry once” is a mantra I try and use for a lot of things. This cheap bike will cost you WAY more than a quality entry level bike that may be more expensive now. The components on that thing are garbage and it will be tough to work on.

I’m sure you could buy a bike thats 4-6x that quality pre owned for about 2-3x that price.

If this is the bike you can afford, yes. It will get you onto the trail. That said, if you enjoy it in the slightest, you’re going to find yourself itching to get something better. The experience on these vs the experience on a more reputable brand is going to be entirely different.

Go to the used bike market and get something that’s like a decade old. This won’t last a season. It will turn you off the sport because it’s a pile of shit.

  6. If buy it from Walmart it fall a part on you & there not really safe… some shop have lay ways or can help you with payment plan s

There are some Ozark trail bikes that are decent, this isn’t one of them.

You’re going to want to upgrade after one ride if you buy it. I can’t say it’s a bad deal because it’s dirt cheap, but I can also say it’s probably about the worst level of bike you can buy, the cheapest of everything and the quality of the build is absolute ass. Just look at the welds for example. If you’re really serious about riding trails I wouldn’t bother, I’d go for a used bike for a couple hundred, a bike that was $500-$600 new and barely used, there’s tons of them

Matty Active swears by these Ozark Trails rigs.

While I’m a total snob by now when I began and could get on a trail worthy rig for less than $400 I’d have been happy.

  10. Yes, depending on your size and preference.. you may want to do 29″. But either way, I grabbed the ozark trail bike and it’s been really solid. Been using it for 8 months, taking it on some serious trails. I’ve had 0 issues and love MTB now. Looking for an upgrade at some point, but this is a solid entry bike. I did quite a few upgrades, but the only thing that made a huge difference was hydraulic brakes. I highly recommend upgrading those right away. Just buy them and do it, don’t wait. It’s a solid bike, I’d say go for it.
