We can’t believe it either! It’s 15 years since Liz and Geoff at The Cotton Patch started selling Handi Quilter longarm machines in the UK. It was about 10 years before that when they both identified longarm machines as being a growth area for machine quilters. It took a while to find a company that was prepared to invest in producing CE certified and tested machines that would work on UK and European voltage. Handi Quilter was that company.

Background to why it is important that Handi Quilter machines are fully compliant with UK and European rules (including the computerised systems).

Many of the other longarm brands had (and some still do have) customers order machines directly from the USA exploiting a loophole designed for commercial operations (not consumers). For The Cotton Patch and Pinhole Quilting consumer safety and machines that meet the safety standards for electrical products in the UK as well as for recycling was an important factor.
