Hello, my gx eagle t-type derailleur completely lost function today. It was my first day riding since November and after putting the battery in the derailleur it had no response other than when i would push on it or wiggle it in a certain way. In hindsight i probably shouldn’t have done this but i left my bike and batteries in my garage to suffer through the harsh wisconsin winter temperatures, so i was wondering if that could be the issue and i just need new batteries. Also theres these black corrosion marks on the batteries and im not sure if thats normal or not (Link to picture at bottom). Basically I just want to know if this is probably a battery issue or if its something with the derailleur and I should start the warranty process.
Also has this happened to anyone else before? any solutions?
Thanks!

Corrosion issues are very common in gx and s1000 transmission axs. They’re the only axs derailleurs that have the battery horizontal instead of vertical so it seems water gets trapped.
A bit of corrosion can easily be cleaned. What normally kills those derailleurs is the pins on the derailleurs themselves that contact the battery get corroded and no longer pop out.
That said what you have looks super minimal. Clean it with some isopropyl and an old brush in two seconds.
