First film of 2025. Unique as you get the delights of two driver’s eye view and both are in the county of Warwickshire hence why the title of this movie is called Warwickshire Lines. We start our journey in Stratford-upon-Avon on board a two car Class 165 DMU on one of the two hourly services to Leamington Spa via Warwick.
Once at Leamington Spa we join a West Midlands Railway service to Nuneaton going via the city of Coventry, this time on a brand new Class 196 DMU. As always narration and trackside shots will be provide to engage the viewers, to discover the rich history and factual information given on the route.
It has taken a bit of time for this film to come out so I do apologise for that but its now here on the big screen. Please like comment and subscribe to this video and stay tuned for more driver’s eye views coming soon. All thats left now is to sit back relax and enjoy two driver’s eye views on the Warwickshire lines.

My local routes😁 looking forward to this!
Chiltern Railway Class 165
WMR Class 195
Great driver eye view .
Love this!!! Canadian here, but I'm in awe at how great British rail really is. Keep the great work up
Don't forget when LNR was called London Midland!
I remember going to Kenilworth from Leamington on the service that operated from Coventry – Leamington Spa on a Class 153
Looking forward to doing this area soon! By train of course Warwickshire Lad!? 😊
Excellent Video!!😊
Great to see you back , excellent contextual info and footage
The driver for the first part was either very bored – or very tired – he couldn't stop yawning!
i loved this video and I need to see more. Its not jut the cab view its the history and the outside shots. Transport, anywhere has to be simple and straitfordward. Rail does that, unless you wish to build airports here there and everywhere. Its nice to see an independant view.
Fantastic as per Paul Glad to see u back Well done Mate
You fell into the trap! Stivichall is locally pronounced as Sty-chall or Sty-chell.
On what date(s) was this film shot?. It looks like March. It was before the on-off work to put in a lift at Warwick station began; one can see cars parked on the right as the train slows to stop there. The works started in 2023 and have hardly got anywhere but they have resuled in closure of the subway to the annoyance of passngers. Network Rail needs replacement by GBR!
Thanks Paul, and to CR and WMR
Many thanks Paul for taking me back to my home county of Warwickshire after 51 years away in both New Zealand and for the past 35 years, Nova Scotia, Canada. Good seeing there's a route from my home city of Coventry somewhere in this interesting film. I also enjoy your commentaries in a few of your other videos and you're a very knowledgeable young gentleman in portraying your information. Keep up your excellent work.
You can tell the Stratford to Leamington leg was filmed a while ago, because Warwick platform 1 is still intact! Construction to install lifts at the station has cut the platform short for the last two years.
Also not all Chiltern local services terminating at Leamington use Platform 3 and then shunt over to 1, only the Stratford one does, the one from Birmingham Moor Street both ends and begins its journey in platform 4.
An excellent introduction to a first-class video. Job well done, Paul.
Thank you wonderful video really enjoyed it look forward to more videos Paul in Kent
Very nice to see my locale featured here and very good video! Just a quick correction though – Chiltern now mostly use class 168/3s on their stratford services – it's actually rather rare for a 165 to be featured on the branch (hence I am surprised that twice this week a 165 has been on the shuttle!). Also worth noting that for quite a while now every Chiltern service calls at Warwick including the loco-hauled Stourbridge services. It is now only the handful of Cross Country services & a peak time WMR service which skips Warwick.
Good video Paul, Stratford’s services are poor to London for a tourist attraction. One service every two hours to leamington is bad, should be at least hourly but one service a day to London is shocking lol. Tbf it gets decent services to Birmingham and beyond
Brilliant video, Thank You for uploading. Been along the Coventry – Nuneaton line a heck of a lot of times and it's always nice to see the perspective of the driver too 👍
Great video, good commentary , thankyou
Great video. On the second train in and around Coventry it's shocking how much rubbish in on the track bed whenever the train goes under pedestrian bridges…
