I will be riding my Bike Friday folding bike and plan to take a train from Tokyo to Kagoshima and back to Tokyo from Osaka. Planning to bring my tent to be able to camp and also stay in small hotels along the way.
Do you have any feedback / advice on my envisioned route?

Hello ! I have ridden in this area in May/June 2024 and it was absolutely wonderful. Though you are missing some of the best bits, I would suggest doing the Shimanami kaido cycling route as well as going on Shodoshima. Don’t hesitate to island hop in the inner sea between Shikoku and Honshu, its really easy with ferrys and super cheap !
