I am building a new gravelbike, and right now i am setting up the rear derailleur. I havent even mounted the chain, just lining everything up before mounting it.
But already have trouble that the derailleur cannot reach the largest sprocket (lowest gear).
The derailleur is RD-RX822-GS, the frame is a udh fram with original udh swapped to a udh-direct mount aftermarket part.

So what have i done?
1. Mounted the derailleur to the derailleur hanger.
2. Backed the low gear limit screw to the max – if i manually push the hanger as far in as possible, it doesnt even touch the screw.
3. Adjusted the high gear limit screw so it lines up with the highest gear (smallest sprocket)

If you check my pictures, first picture is the cage pushed max in – lines up straight under second largest sprocket, gear 11.
Second picture shows high limit adjustment.
Third picture is limit screws..

I can adjust the high gear limit screw so it would actually cover another even smaller sprocket than the highest gear.
But not adjust low gear limit to cover the largest sprocket.
Its almost like the cassette is to far in, or that the derailleur sits to far out from the cassette.
The wheels are elitewheels edge gravel with Microspline body and a Shimano M7100 10-45t cassette.

  1. it’s off by a whole gear, something is definitely not installed correctly. What is that aftermarket udh direct mount adapter and why do you even need it? That derailleur works with a standard derailleur hanger.
