I'm considering ordering a Specialized Aethos Expert, which comes with Ultegra Di2 drivetrain. However since 52/36 gearing is quite a bit too high for me I'll want to switch to an aftermarket chainset (such as this one) since 46/32t rings are more my speed.
I'll need to change the bottom bracket too but besides that, on paper, the Praxis option should be compatible with the drivetrain. However – my only concern is whether I'll be able to adjust the front derailleur to be low enough to reach the new, smaller rings. Is there likely to be enough range in the hanger to get that low? How can I gain confidence that it'll work out, before committing to buying?

Unless you have a bloody good reason to change the chainset why do it when you can keep the current chainset and replace the rings to get your desired size.
