Lately I’am getting a squeaking noise on the back of my Tiagra 4700 groupset.
I’ve cleaned and rewaxed my chain and the noise is still there.
Is it possible that I just used too much degreaser at some point and some of axles need regreasing?
Any clues would be appreciated.

Four things to check:
– Is your chain dry?
– do the jockey wheels on your derailleur need lubing?
– Is your brake rotor misaligned and rubbing against the pads?
– do you have a rubber seal on the non-drive side that is dry and rubbing against the hub as it spins?
Order to check:
– if you have a rubber seal on the non-drive side, drip a drop or two of lube between it and the hub. Spin the wheel a few times to spread the lube and allow it to penetrate. Wipe away any excess. Test; is it still squeaking?
– if it’s still squeaking, properly lubricate the chain. Wipe away excess lube. Test: Is it still squeaking?
– if it’s still squeaking, carefully spray some aerosol lubricant (such as inox, NOT wd40) on the rotating parts of the jockey wheels, on each side of the jockey wheel. Test; is it still squealing?
– if it’s still squealing, put the bike into a heavy gear and spin the wheel from a standstill, listening closely to the caliper and rotor. If you hear a squeal/squeak coming from there, eyeball the gap between the rotor and the pads. If the rotor bends towards the pads at any point during its rotation, this may be the reason. Either straighten the rotor yourself with the appropriate tool, or stop by your LBS and tell them about how you narrowed the squeal down to the rotor.
Good luck! Hope this helps
