Some of that looks a little rough. In any case, you can knock down surface rust with a brass brush.

Honestly, I’d just check the chain with a chain checker in a few different spots. If it’s good, I’d lube the shit out of it, wipe it thoroughly of excess lube, then ride my bike. Repeat as needed.
