    Metal frames you’re usually pretty right to clamp.

    Carbon no – then clamp seat post.

    If you’ve got a dropper best to clamp the fixed part of the dropper not the mobile part. Upwards loading apparently not good for ‘em.

  2. Nope. I’ve seen an alloy top tube crushed like this. By a bike shop mechanic too if that has any merit.

  3. No, never. Especially the top tube. The material is so thin. Maybe on your seat tube, but why? The outer shaft of your dropper post.
