On this ride, me ‘n my cycling buddy Mike, took on three great descents and some stunning countryside as we set off into the Yorkshire Dales National Park in search of cycling heaven and an all important café stop. With so many iconic places to ride your bike in this area, we passed by the villages of Gargrave, Hetton, Embsay, Burnsall, Grassington and Kettlewell to name but a few before a spot of lunch at the Café by the Lake which is set in the lovely grounds of the Kilnsey Country Park Estate.
My videos offer you, maps, narration and the usual cycling banter, I also hope they inspire you to get out there on your bike and to go for a ride.
I’m a cyclist and I live in the Pennines.

Good idea to go on a group ride with a good cafe stop, maybe this summer is the time
The end of February 2025 is fast approaching and this video is a lovely introduction to hopefully a dry Spring and Summer. I’m sure we’re all hoping for that. I always think Daz that it’s good that you remind riders to ride at speed within their abilities as it’s all too easy to get carried away as I did last February, crashed at speed, and was off the bike for two and a half months in recovery, it’s just not worth it.
Enjoy your riding, take in the lovely scenery, feel free and enjoying being alive. You can’t beat cycling, but that’s just my opinion.
Happy cycling folks in 2025 and we can’t wait for yours and Mikes rides around the district. 😀☀️
Hi Daz and Mike, that was fantastic to watch, the views the and bike skills.I thought my neck of the woods was nice, but I think that topped it 😊
Lol, hilarious this one. You two should have your own comedy show – what would it be called I wonder ? (and I could see you were having a hard time trying to find a small vestige of a showman somewhere in Mike – but you know what they say in show-biz, "never work with children or animals"🤣
Great stuff from the dynamic duo, you found some lovely lanes away from the A roads. We tackled the climb and descent from Embsay last week ..on the Skipton Ilkley Sunday bus😉😊 . Was there much A roading on this ride?
Was laughing so hard at Mike at the beginning lol ❤ love the video and would love to come someday for that ride maybe after lots of practice on the bike 1st………..😂
That was a nice treat dropping onto my iPad just as I got into bed ..You make each ride very enjoyable with the commentary on each village and the landscape ect.
Mike has a decent set of legs as it’s tough up there ! Elaine has booked a week up there Bolton in Bowland? I think at the end of June but sadly I won’t be taking the bike as she always fills the car to “ Everest “Standard ! Some of them descents look like they have blind bends and I know when I brake hard the back locks up and I keep going 😳😋👍🚴♂️👌🎥🏅🥇
2023 was a vintage cycling hear (the least we say about 2024 the better imho), lets hope 2025 is another great one 👍🏻
Another great video daz cheers , Mike is priceless 😂 “ Mike where back in settle again !” “Oh are we” 🤣, also I like how’s there’s no snobbery on feet or meters like other YouTubers !! As in you use both so the other is not ignored, same with the miles & klm
Brilliant video lad's I would make one with you! But have you got a tow rope.
Gray murk (Lancashire)! Great stuff Daz, been missing you.
Nice to see mike again
I was so happy to see another video with you and Mike. It just wouldn't be the same if he insisted on remaining anonymous, like your mystery guest. I laughed until I wheezed when Mike explained that his background was posher than yours. 😂
Will Mike be riding with you this year
I’d love to come along for a ride when the days get longer. I’m quite close to you, I’m in Elland, can meet you in littleborough. Just gimme a shout
