given an old Raleigh, the seatpost has been bashed in to the extent that the bolt clamp has splayed apart. Tried cutting, this is time consuming and I was starting to cut the frame at top. Perhaps could’ve drilled it out but wanted to try this, a sodium hydroxide solution to melt away the ali. This stuff is volatile and I had to mask up (hydrogen is produced plus the fumes from the sodium hydroxide take your breath away), wear gloves and specs in ventilated area.
