I bought these new brake pads for a discount, this the the first time I'm changing the pads so I'm unsure if the discolouration is normal or if it is contaminated
It does look a bit weird. Were they packaged like normal, unopened? If so I’d just install and ride them to see what they’re like

If they are squeaking, yes. If it is oil I had some reasonable luck with boiling the pads in soapy water with baking soda. I boiled them for about 15 minutes, changed the water, and then boiled then in pure water for another 10 minutes. I “discovered” this during covid when there weren’t any bike parts available.

Do you have pics of the other side ? From here they do look very much fake to me, ive changed hundreds and never did new ones look like this.

Yes they are. Sand them with 120 grit, same for the rotor
