It’s been warming up a bit in my area and it got me thinking about mtb season. I’ve decided I want to sell my stump jumper 29 because it isn’t quite enough for my enduro racing and a little much for cross country racing. It’s a great bike with great parts but it’s just getting older and is high mileage. I think I’ve done about 500 some miles on it in the 2 years I’ve had it. Here are the specs:
-carbon XL frame with built in storage and bottle cage
-29” roval carbon wheels with still solid macOS tires
-ohlins 36 fork and ttxm2 coil
-SRAM GX drivetrain
-SRAM carbon cranks
-Shimano Deore XT 2 piston brakes and levers.
-PNW bars, dropper, grips, pedals, etc.
-SWAT headset tool
-some ride wrap that’s starting to peel a bit
Of course it’s high mileage so I’m sure most of the bearing need replaced and then some fresh ride wrap etc. I’m hoping to hit around the 2500 to 3k mark so I can have enough for a Capra core 3 AL. What do you guys think?

I’d say list for 2,800 and expect to sell it for 2,500.
Do the MacOS tires ride different after every update?
Realistically around 1500 at the high end I’d think being a 2 generation old stumpjumper
If you’re thinking you’d get $2500+ for a 2016-2018 Stumpjumper, I have some magic beans to sell you.
Whilst the bike has nice suspension, it is old. Not knowing the US market super well, you’d struggle here in the UK to get £1500 for that bike right now. Hell there is a 2022 Stumpjumper Evo Expert on Pinkbike right now for £1700
I would add another telescoping seatpost on top of the current one. Very attractive feature for buyers. If you can get it high enough you can ride a full loop ramp like tony hawk but remain upright.
Wait another month for the weather to improve more. Then list it for $2k and hope. In the meantime clean it as meticulously as you can.
Is 500 miles “high mileage”?
I can put nearly 40 trail miles on a bike in one ride.
500 is not “high mileage”. I have 4500 on my Evil and I just got a full strip down and rebuild service. It’s like a new bike.
Probably get a better opinion if you took proper pictures instead of the Instagram angles. Can’t see the specs or wear.
Also it is an older spesh. Good bikes but nothing special. I would slightly reduce your expectations.
I would keep it. It’s not a good time to sell bikes. You’re going to be insulted by how much it’s worth right now
For anyone just getting to this post my areas bike market is still a little fucked so there are base model aluminum stumps going for $1500 easy from the same generation, the closest to this one I could find was going for $2800 and was a slightly newer carbon stumpy evo with like sram NX and rockshox, so I think $2500 ish won’t do too badly in my area
