Hey, so I'm a total newbie rider, just got my first bike, an Ozark Trail Ridge, and went on my first ride. Not even a mile into the trail, by chain broke and I had to walk it back out. It was shifting pretty hard between the gears and the pedals would jolt forward when it shifted. The chain broke while I downshifted pedaling uphill. Now, based on some research, I can see that the broken link could be replaced, but is it worth it? Its a 9-speed YBN chain that came on the bike. Would it be better to buy a better chain? Also, should I look into some sort of maintenance or replacement for the derailer since it was shifting so hard? I don't want to fix/replace the chain, just for the derailer to cause more issues. Here is a link to some pictures of the chain. Any advice is appreciated.
