I’m looking for a new bike as my old one got stolen a few months ago. I came across this bike which is being offered at 300€. Usually it costs at least a grand but the owner says the low price is because of the crack in the frame. I don’t really ride downhill often (max 1 per month) and when I do I never ride big jumps or drops (max 1m tall) as that is the best I can do. Should I buy the bike even though it has a crack in the frame and if I did buy it would it be able to withstand my level of riding?

  1. Short answer – No

Long answer – If there was decent quality parts on the bike in good condition, it might be worth it to transfer them to a different frame. As it stands, the parts aren’t worth the asking price. And the frame is toast
