You can see the 3-5 tabs at the end there, that sit on the bar closest to the stem. You flex all of them in gently, and then pull the whole thing apart…..it sucks. Then you route the new cable, and snap it back together……after the little metal clicky piece falls out…….every time.

Where does the metal thing goes?
Personally, I hate working on GripShifts. There’s no standard or unified approach, and that’s within brands.
