Made another dumpster find. As far as I can tell, just need to wipe off the dust and replace the back tube. Figured after the comments on my last post I would ask if this one is worth fixing up or if I should just throw it back.

I would clean it up, throw a tube in it and give it away. I’m in the group of people who think if it can be ridden, its not trash.
Put a tube in it, ride it around until it falls apart. It’s not worth spending a lot of money.
My dad has that bike and has served its time. Too bad the shifters don’t work.
It’s scrap
Walmart bike. Can’t really be fixed or upgraded but until it needs that, ride it.
It was $199 new 25 years ago.
With a new tube and a little once over it will get you from A to B.
But don’t put any money into it by way of buying any significant parts, you won’t see a penny back. But if all you need to do is put a new tube in, maybe adjust the brakes or even buy some new brake pads and adjust the saddle and cockpit to your preferences then you’ll be golden.
If you want to use it to gain experience of working on bikes then it might be worth changing the brake and shifter cables, changing the brake pads and putting a new chain on it but i wouldn’t be spending any more money than that to be honest.
Awful bike, but someone might ride it.
That exact model bike has been abandoned at a bike rack near me. I’ve been wondering if it was worth anything.
