  1. I’m sorry, but I support this. That said, if I were to single anyone out and focus my discussion on, it would be the women that missed out on winning over a transgender athlete who did win.

  2. A biological male should not be competing against women in a sex based class. I’m not going to argue over why because it’s obvious to anyone who doesn’t turn a blind eye to the issue. My town ran off the Belgian waffle ride because their trans policy change regarding classes. I made sure to volunteer to support the race and what they stood for.

  3. I transitioned years ago, didnt pick up a bike or weight until there was little to no testosterone in my body left. This stuff just sucks to navigate right now, I dont compete, haven’t even sniffed a top 100 at a gravel event probably and ill still get shit comments regularly.

I don’t know what the answer is anymore for trans people riding casually even, but I hope we find something. I mean we could create a trans category but truth be told there will probably only be 1 or 2 trans people that show up to races, probably 0 most of the time. Its a free win I guess, the one trans rider I know that competes will only enter NB categories, but I bet those get taken away just given the political climate. I just wanna ride bikes with my friends and enjoy crazy shit like RO3 and Midsouth.

We need an Open division and an XX-chromosome-only division that police the PED use that causes an XX individual to resemble an XY individual in appearance and physical performance. It’s objective, scientific, and fair.

  5. Conservatives couldn’t have cared less about women’s sports until a few trans folks came along and threatened their entire fragile world view. Now suddenly they are all up in arms about “protecting female athletes.”

  6. The institutionalisation of anything is problematic: gender, ‘sports’ like cycling or anything. As soon as competition and comparison are introduced, and norms and power dynamics arise, there are exclusions and inequalities. Gender norms are a form of social control and so is the institutionalisation of cycling. So fuck the uci, Olympics and all competition in my view. Most of all fuck trump and his pee fetish.

  7. No issues with being trans – but why the need to race ? Most people don’t and are happy. Racing just seems very contentious with advantages/disadvantages.

  8. Just don’t compete against biological women if you’re not a biological woman.

    That being controversial is insane.
