The Great Southern Country – Full Film – Out Now.
It was Lachlan Morton’s greatest feat of endurance yet.
Last September, Lachy set a new Around Australia Record, riding 14,200-kilometers around his home country in just 30 days, nine hours, and 59 minutes. That’s more than 460 kilometers per day, every day, for a month. Lachy’s brother Gus was there with him for the ride, filming all of his pre-dawn starts, the lonely time trials down outback highways, headwinds, tailwinds, gas station meals, and all of the people who Lachlan met along the way.
The Great Southern Country, our film about Lachlan’s Around Australia Record, presented by Cannondale and POC, is out now on the EF Pro Cycling YouTube channel..
It is a story of endurance, how great challenges bring people together. And it is a story about Australia in all of its rugged beauty.
During his ride, Lachlan raised over $140,000 AUD for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, to provide books and learning resources to Indigenous children living in remote Communities across his home country. You can still donate at: https://fundraising.ilf.org.au/lachlanmortongreatsoutherncountry

Unreal effort. Admirable grace. An inspiration to all human beings who seek the limits.
Simply the Best…………..
Did i hear someone say "Road Train" at one point? i couldnt handle riding next to those 3x long semi-truck things on no shoulder
Thank you for a wonderful film and congratulations to Lachlan & his team. He is a legend. I bet he is already thinking about his next adventure.
Absolute machine!
This is a beautiful film of an incredible feat.
Wow!
You are a special person, your endeavours, your kindness, your BIG ❤, your outlook, how you can still see light in dark times and crack a smile and laugh. I could go on and on, thank you for taking us with you on your journeys.
Love and hugs. John in Scotland.
Lachy you are a monster! What an effort. You are really pushing the limits of what is possible on a bike. Super inspirational. Well done mate. And well done to the support team. I bet its not easy seeing someone push themselves to the absolute limit

I was a overweight unfit guy in 2019, you make me want to ride, a few 100 mile rides behind me, 5 stone lighter, 60 years young in 2026, I’m chasing longer and harder rides.
It’s down to you young man, thanks 🙏

“Holy shit! Look at all the stars!” Amazing! Thanks.
Such a heart-warming film. Beautiful characters and filming. Mad respect for Lachy and his crew.
Absolute legend Lachy!
Anyone got the name of the light up high viz vest Lachy’s wearing at 12:09
Amazing. While I knew everything was okay I was still nervous about the busy highway. Good choice to take another route. Cheers!
very nice film. As i was getting back into cycling, the content detailing Lachlan and the alternative cycling calendar were a big inspiration for me to give gravel racing a shot. A few year back i was parking at a small event, and when i got out of my car i was quite surprised to see Lachlan pulled in right next to me. Now i typically greet whoever is parked next to me at a race with a "good morning and good luck", as a fan i greeting him with a "good morning, surprised to see you here!" to which he responded by literally looking right through me as if i wasn't there. which was a bit of a bummer. Now i know perhaps he was just having a bad day, as we all can, but really how hard is it to just say hello? anyhow i suspect i either get no, or a negative reply but it just kind a bummer since his adventures are inspiring, and he seems likeable, just didnt come across that way in person.
The woman sums it all up perfectly: “What sort of stupid idea was this.” Damn, you proved that one man and his stupid idea CAN change the world. Congrats.
Lachy- total respect! Well done for what you achieved and the money raised. You showed true grit in adversity. Thank you for sharing and putting a rocket under each and everyone of us to be better! Thank you to your sponsors who contributed 🚴
Been waiting for the film to drop – this is incredible on so many levels. What an achievement. Congratulations and thanks for inspiring us all to push our limits.
Great accomplishment and kudos to the crew. The film was great, I teared up a little bit at the end.
Shoutout to the videographer (or the editor?) for the great visual storytelling, there are more distressing angles and scenes to capture the situations near the end of the journey. (Edit: Ah no wonder! The editor is not other people but Angus!)
Very good documentary! Insane effort. And a beautiful ending. I really enjoyed this. Thank you to all involved.
What an epic quest! credit to all involved.
I'm not sure I could drive it this fast
Thank you. Inspiring in so many levels.
