“Cycling through Germany is probably one of my favourite experiences I’ve had on a bicycle.”
The cyclists participating in the 2024 Orient Express continue their journey eastward. In this video they begin cycling from Freiburg, home to a bustling student population. The riders visit the source of the Danube River before pedalling through the enchanted Black Forest, reminding some of the movie, The Sound of Music. They now follow the Danube Cycleway through medieval towns, stopping for a rest day in Ulm, home to the world’s tallest church – the Ulmer Muenster, and admiring Regensburg’s medieval architecture before crossing into Austria and its gorgeous capital Vienna. They continue to Bratislava with its cobbled streets and stunning views before cycling into Budapest, the ‘Pearl of the Danube’, past its stunning riverside Parliament buildings.
This is part two of our 4-part video series that follows the participants of the 2024 Orient Express as they cycle from Paris all the way to Istanbul. Learn more about this section of the tour here: https://tdaglobalcycling.com/orient-express/danube-trail
