Got this 2016 Roubaix SL4 for $700

Did I do good? Normal? Or overpaid?
Also, how long do bikes typically last? I never would have imagined the price of bikes to be what it is, and I feel like buying an almost 10 year old bike for over $500 is insane but from my research it seemed like this was the lowest I could get it for from the choices I had. Everything else was similar priced like trek, cannondale, and giant. So I went with the one I liked the looks of the best, hopefully it will get me to ride it more!

It’s a good deal for that era bike that’s full carbon and top of the line groupset. I got two used full carbon bikes from around that era for that price range. It’s easily much better than a new one for less than $1k.
I wouldn’t worry about how long it would last. This bike has top quality components and can easily last decades more. You will need maintenance as you ride such as replacing consumables (drivetrain components, wheels, tires, brakepads).
The bike appears to be clean in good shape, so the price is reasonable but not a fantastic deal. You didn’t get ripped off!
Well maintained bikes can last a very long time, you could easily get another decade out of that bike with the right maintenance. Drivetrains, tires, and bar tape wear out, but the rest should last a while.
If everything works OK and the bike rides fine, tyres dont need replacing etc I would say you got a decent deal, nothing awesome but didnt get ripped off either.
Also, nice work showing an interest in your kids hobbies and spending time together, way to parent
I have the nearly identical bike in white, I got it from my dad a few years ago. I think what you paid is reasonable and a perfectly serviceable bike for a long time. Beats paying 3x that and not riding as much as you’d expect. Solid performer, ride safely.
FYI: I think you might have this frame from 2015 in satin charcoal with most of the components replaced, not a 2016 model year.

The 2016 model year doesn’t appear to have this color scheme offered, though could be incorrect.

In any case, looks like a fair price for a carbon frame in good shape and good components.
