Wear your helmets folks! So I got into my first cycling accident. I could use some encouragement lol. So I got a new (to me) bike with drop bars and was testing it out on my day off. I have been riding with flat bars for a year now and admittedly wasn't used to the drop bars. I thought I'd go to my local shop and see about changing them out, replacing the brake triggers and shifters. I had to go down a pedestrian and cycling tunnel, the same one I go down everyday. I was so worried about shifting down that I forgot I need to brake down the hill. It was too late, in a few seconds I noticed I wad going to fast and could hot someone. I bailed. Slammed my face into a wall and my gut reaction was to raise my hand. My face was bloodied and now I have a broken wrist. I'll have some time off, but now I'll need to walk and bus/train ride to work. I feel like an idiot. Luckily I was wearing my helmet and didn't hurt anyone in the tunnel, it turned out there were a lot of people down there.

  1. Healing vibes to you, hope you’re back on the bike soon. Maybe take the flat bar option for your first ride post recovery!
