Today, Mr Chippie & I drove to Worsbrough Near Barnsley to buy/pick up a Sony DVD camcorder (DCR-DVD403E) that Mr Chippie had spotted on Facebook Marketplace (I don’t do facebook), for Ā£15. It came with three unused 8cm Verbartum discs & a used Sony one. The camera it’elf was ‘body only’, no battery or charger & in a tatty cigarette smelling camera bag. No mention of working or not was stated. It’s incredible that people can’t be bothered to post stuff like this!

I went with a charged battery so we could test it on the way home. Anyway, it didn’t read discs….but Mr Chippie cleaned the laser lens when we got back to Tango Towers & we did a master reset; it now seems to work….certainly with the used disc it came with…..20 minutes of walking round a graveyard using nightvision at midnight!

At the end of the video, I’ve included 15 seconds of the ‘ghosthunting’ video it came with!

CB swearing on 19 of course….and echos.

  1. A nice scenic road trip some places I've been to in the past good to see it on the video and a few people around there on the CB too, when you mentioned Hooberstand I was thinking ghost hunting as a lot of paranormal investigators on you tube film there then at the end there is a ghost hunt on the disc maybe the seller was one of them, anyway good luck with the camera repair I just caught this road trip video before calling it a night as I'm on a rail and ale trip to Nottingham tomorrow.

  2. Hello richard.i have the same camcorder and it makes really good video for what it is šŸ™‚ Sometimes the microphone picks up some noise from the DVD mechanism while recording.

  3. Is that Readers Digest boxes sets? The Glenn Miller one still hasn't been beaten for quality or breadth of material. RCA provided masters taken from metal mother disks.
