





So, just rebuilt the shocks and decided to take the wheels off to do some inspections before the weekend ride.
Discovered the below:
The derailleur hanger, snapped (photo of old V New attached).
The part that’s snapped has swollen itself onto the bearing.
I’ve tried giving hitting it, heating it up then heating it, swearing at it and hitting it.
So far achieved nothing but a few scratches on my frame.
I’ve come to conclusion that it’s going to have to come out with the bearing attached.
I need some tool for this, like a bearing puller or press.
Do you guys have recommendations on the appropriate tool to extract THEN also seat the new bearing in?
Or do you recommend another approach?
I want to avoid taking it to the local, as I assume it’ll happen again and I’d prefer to have the tools.
Please help!
