  1. Looks like a bit of surface corrosion to me. Not uncommon, especially for mail order stuff if its been sitting a while.

    If there is another issue, your words and picture didn’t really share too much.

    Welcome to the dry sealed bearing. Pop the cover off to see the condition of the bearing.

  3. That amount of rust could occur from notmal
    humidity in a warehouse or wherever. The bearing is fine, you’ll probably harm it more installing it.

  4. If it matters that much to you, take a small sheet of foil…wad it up and rub over rust spots. Now, no rust.
