This video highlights what this ride is all about—the route, the key moments, the personalities involved (World Tour Riders), and how people feel about the weekly effort.

A beauty of a vid.
I was there as a 19 y/o Canadian in 1990! I remember nearly blacking out trying to hold Andy Bishop's wheel approaching that stop sign at the finish. He was a local 7-11 pro who rode the Tour the previous year. It was famous as the hardest group ride in the country even back then.
Love it, great video and what a nice break from so many minutes at this watts, recovery and repeat.
Living a great life with workout friends like that
This is inspiring. Thx dude
Love this ride rode it a few times while there training, awesome vibe
Love the passion in your voice. Its inspiring 😊
Cool video. Looks like it's in the Tucson area, judging by the saguaro (or at least, it's in the Sonoma desert somewhere). Be nice to identify the area for viewers who are out-of-towners.
Love your shirt! You're the man!
380-500 watt efforts is insane!
Great video!
The real “A” mountain is in Tempe… 😉
Love the music!
transfats from donuts, tim odonnell's love… now how is his pro career now?
Stites is a beast but the team( CAJA RURAL) he rides for isnt world tour
So crazy man to do all that riding then run haha
It’s pretty fast 😅
If I can hold 400w for 20 mins could I do this ride or nah
Ice cream in the morning when it's cold out
Epic man. Love this video. Enjoying my Tri, but cycling is in my heart. If you have more footage, I’d love to see more pain. ❤❤❤
What a white introverted geeked out sport.
You were holding your own on that ride
hair cut on point !
Outstanding content!
great video sam
Ben Hoffman is and always will be such as bad ass …The Hoff!!! 🏁
I have the utmost respect for you!
Was nice of you to take it easy on the pro cyclists
Really enjoyed this insight. Gals do go on this but legend triathlete leanda cave set up a women’s shootout which has a few lady pros, also from the Mercado!
This is so cool! Did Lionel ever come out and do this?
Run after ride is nasty work 😂 if you had said tumamoc i would've been deceased. that is an absolute wall of a hill.
This peloton looks like an Ironman AG bike course 😵💫
Is that going to be new 2025 kit that you are running in ?? 🔥🔥
What a fun and informative video. Loved seeing something other than the conventional triathlon content (not that I mind that, either). Also nice to see Ben, who is a class act and also so smart! And a great chat with the Mighty Quinn.
That’s a ride for the young guys. I’d be riding alone the rest of the way after the first few miles
Nice low quality video, Sam.
Would love to do this. One day I'll get to Arizona from Toronto. Lots of buddies go there – few there now. Great vid
Hey Sam big fan from Singapore.
It seems you could size up the Trek and slam that handlebar. How do you prefer your current setup with the stack of spacers?
I’m 1.82 thinking about sizing down but not sure about a full stack of spacers.
Quinn Simmons is racist. Please don't give him a platform!
Nice ride review! Hope to do this one day, minus the post-ride run part… yikes.
Thanks for this video and description. Brought so many good memories from I used to live there and use the Shootout as race simulation training. Paul Thomas doesn't age and doesn't slow down!! Great to see that local legend on the video 🙌
