Had to remove and put the derailleur back on my bike. For some reason the chain isn't making contact with the back wheel thing, nor does the body sit in the correct position. I'm out of ideas on what's going on with it. Need help to fix it. Amd yes I know it's in terrible condition, im going to be replacing it all soon I jist need it for tomorrow's commute.

The spring inside the derailleur that pulls back the jockey wheels is either broken or jumped out of its’ seat. You’ll have to disassemble it to see for yourself and try to fix ( [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sZS49JmXK0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sZS49JmXK0) our lord and savior RJ hallowed be thy name) or take it to a LBS.
Don’t paint your bike like that 🙁
Looks good to me!
Everything.

Very lazy diagram, green rings are the sprockets on your derailleur, blue is the cassette of gears, red line is the chain. This is how it should be.
my brother in christ did you spray paint your chain?
That’s honestly impressive.
