At 2,055 metres elevation Mangart Saddle isn’t just the highest road in Slovenia, it’s also one of the most beautiful roads in Europe! Whether you’re cycling (like I was), hiking or simply going up there to enjoy some of the most sensational views imaginable, there’s absolutely no question that you’ll experience something very special.
For cyclists, starting off at the Predel bridge, you face a very tough 10.9 kilometres, gaining 980 metres in elevation and with gradients up to 15%. Take your time, pace yourself well and keep enough energy for the final effort to top followed by a huge smile!
