Hey there. I just picked up this super flashy 1991 Merckx road bike. Generally I dress rather drab on the bike, black bibs and black wool jerseys, mtb wind layer in the cold. I don't think that really fits this bike. The obvious choice is to go with the Motorola team jersey that matches the livery, however I feel that wearing team gear is kind of goofy as a recreational cyclist.
So the question is, what sort of fitting kit would you put together for this bike? I like merino, but I'm not wedded to it. Retro two bolt shoes (straps were big in the 90s!), wraparound shades, ugly poorly vented Specialized foam helmets?! Maybe no need to go that far, but show me what you've got.

I know this is from a different time frame but, this brings me back to the Motorola days with Lance. Maybe some vintage kit?

Something like this might be appropriate. Gets the flavor of the Motorola team kit as far as design and colors, but without being a copy plastered with sponsors logos.
