Hi all,
I bought my first bike bags with a rack to do some 2-3 day rides.
I have a question about the right adjustment. So they have some kind of cylinders to allow an installation on a bike with disc brakes. But it seems to me that the rack would fit perfectly without them. I also have the feeling that the distance between the bags is too big. Should I cut off the cylinders with a grinder and install it without them?
Or maybe use the holes for the fenders? They are installed without the holes. And the holes are a bit "deeper", so the distance between the bags will be less.

  1. Yeah, the leverage that set-up is creating makes me nervous. That is a stress point when loaded and mounting it like that seems to be creating extra risk with no benefit. The rack bottom appears to be removable – can you reverse the bottom piece on the rack, then try it where you have it now?

It looks like the frame has that extended mounting point for a rack without the spacer, so you should maybe use the inner mounting hole with that rack, or the outer one for a rack without the spacer.
