Folks I need some help with my rear V brake housing. Why does the housing that is connected to the brake lever des engages/disconnects from the brake sometimes after breaking?

Cable and housing are new. Levers and Shimano v brakes are used. I initially assembled the vbrakes to the middle hole in the frame, then moved it to the upper one for more tension as the issue of the photos was happening even more. With more tension it improves but still the housing doesn’t stay engaged in the lever 100% of the time.

Ps: ignore the saddle, I’ll change it 😉

  1. Maybe too much friction between cable and housing. Try disconnecting one arm of the brake and moving the housing up and down the cable by hand. If there is excessive friction between the housing and cable for some reason you should be able to feel it. Then troubleshoot from there.
