It goes right through the braking surface and around the back of the rim as well. This is the front wheel. The back has a small line on it in a similar spot, but its not as prounced as this and only on one side.

Normal. Alloy wheelsets are joined together. That’s the seam/joint.

A good wheel build would hide the seam

that just indicates that it’s a pinned rim so the extruded aluminum of the rim is pinned together with an fastener at each end instead of welded. it isn’t a load bearing part of the wheel, and pinned wheel sets aren’t any weaker than welded

Totally normal. You’ll see how the extruded sections are rolled into circles, then joined in this video:

I’ve seen worse. For a novatech wheel for example this would be really good!
After some breaking the edge gets flatter and you will not even hear it…
Yes, some of my wheels are like that, never really noticed till recently when I had to change my tires
Absolutely normal
Pinned wheel, completely normal
Long seam on a tall, black rim. Expensive to hide. This one looks okay.
Alloy rims have to be joined together somewhere. That’s where they’re joined together.
Oh for Mavic’s SUP 😃👍
Normal, a few manufacturers put a decal on that part.
