Besuchten heute die Küsten Stadt Durrës. Wollten eigendlich gar nicht dahin doch Adillo den wir gestern getroffen haben meinte, dass ein Besuch lohnenswert wäre. Die Sehenswürdigkeit Nr 1 der Stadt ist ganz klar das antike Amphitheater das Platz hatte für bis zu 16’000 Personen und zählt deshalb zum grössten der Balkanhalbinsel. Man kann noch einwenig die Strukturen erkennen. Auch der Venezuelanische-Turm mit den dazugehörigen Mauern war imposant anzuschauen. Das Stadtzentrum ist ebenfalls sehrschön gestaltet worden mit den Palmen und der grossen Moschee. Ansonsten ist Durrës eher für die Fähre nach Italien bekannt.

Day 117
Today, we visited the coastal city of Durrës. Initially, we didn’t plan to go there, but Ardilio, whom we met yesterday, suggested that it would be worth a visit. The number one attraction in the city is clearly the ancient amphitheater, which could accommodate up to 16,000 people and is therefore one of the largest in the Balkan Peninsula. You can still see some of its structures. The Venetian Tower, along with its walls, was also impressive to behold. The city center has been beautifully designed with palm trees and a grand mosque. Otherwise, Durrës is primarily known for its ferry service to Italy.
