Yet another anti bike rant. Bikes don't kill. Cars and trucks do.
Paths wider than 2 meters should be shared space.
I ride on a joint walking and cycle greenway path. All it needs is some courtesy and awareness.
Cyclists are a pain on the pavement and on the roads….
Perhaps more bike lessons at school to drum in the bike belongs on the road.
But then the roads are bloody dangerous for bikes because of the amount of nutters on the road.
Would you want your kid riding a bike on dangerous roads?
Would you be willing to pay more council tax for bike lanes, some of which would involve sharing the pavement and road with a demarcation line painted onto the ground?
Electric scooters. Used by drug dealers to distribute their muck.
Well said, goodness we cannot lose your YouTube contribution due to some peddle pushers 😂
They should ride on an automatic wheelchair, one can ride on the roads with some 😂
In the Victorian era, the Police had to form special pursuit units to combat "burners". Reckless cyclists. No such luck these days.
E-scooters banned from the railway but people still bring them on the trains. Usually drug dealing scrotes.
You know .. that’s not a big ask … in fact it’s bloody ridiculous your having to even tolerate this … hope it gets sorted soon …
Cycles are not the problem. Cyclists are the problem. Ignorant, inconsiderate, aggressive louts.
The roads are far too dangerous to cycle on. In 2022, 91 pedal cyclists were killed in Great Britain, whilst 4,056 were reported to be seriously injured.
Unfortunately there are terrible people on bikes just like there are terrible drivers and pedestrians who don’t check their environment. The recent HC changes give us a priority order- pedestrians / horses, cyclists then motorised vehicles. Everyone should be following that.
Oxford is a cycling city despite the council. There are enough of us to be a critical mass, however deaths still occur as you’ll notice from the ghost bikes dotted around.
E bikes and Scooters are more dangerous, than ordinary bicycles. They are much faster and they are silent. Portable angle grinders and expensive bicycles are incompatible.
Cambridge and Oxford have much better cycling infrastructure, than Rugby.
Nobody over the age of 18 should ride a bicycle.
Unless delivering Pizza.
Simple solution: oblige councillors to use bicycles, at least once a week. If you do not know or care about your 'own' city you are useless any…..road…..-
A walking stick in the spokes works.
Continual complaints about bikes and trains. Life must be a nightmare everytime he steps out of his front door.
1835 bicycle law. A year after the 1834 poor laws, moving people from the countryside to the industrial cities.
Good afternoon professor, I've just bought a Irish blackthorn shillaghly, " more than a match" for anything you can buy in Halfords, " and there's more" it's a beautiful object aswell 🏴 happy healthy peace ✌️
You voted for leaves on the pavement and inadequate provision for cyclists when you voted for Cameron's Austerity. It impoverished councils and led to the problems that you complain about.
Just been watching a short clip from the met police on how they are doing a great job 👍 trying to tackle mobile phone 📱 theft in the capital. If that helps. 🤔😹☮️
Cambridge spent millions on bike lanes and the cyclists still use the pavements. There are plenty of signpostings but it is just ignored, the council do nothing. There is no Police enforcement but then again the Police do nothing for the public these days!
Labour say I can identify as a llama.
I'm very grateful. Bahhhhhhhh
You should get a bike and join them.
For proper urban transport planning where forms of public transport (such as trams) are properly blended with private (cycles, then cars) look to the Netherlands. They've got it right. Or at least miles better than the UK has.
Was this lad not wearing his Duke of Edinburgh proficiency badge ! The nerve of our youth ! It’s not health promoting if you’re in traffic !
