I wanna buy a new gravel bike and Canyon currently has the Grizl CF SL 8 on sale (https://www.canyon.com/de-de/gravel-bikes/adventure/grizl/cf-sl/grizl-cf-sl-8-1by/3697.html?dwvar\_3697\_pv\_rahmenfarbe=R095\_P11) for 2600€ instead of 3k.
What I just noticed is that the Grizl CF SL 6 AXS has an electronic groupset (https://www.canyon.com/de-de/gravel-bikes/adventure/grizl/cf-sl/grizl-cf-sl-6-axs/3696.html?dwvar\_3696\_pv\_rahmenfarbe=R095\_P14) which is something I always wanted to try out. It's even 100€ cheaper.
How do you think both groupsets and bikes compare? Why is the CF SL 8 worth more than 500€ compared to the SL6, if you consider the normal prices? Thanks!

Electronic group sets are amazing and once I made the switch I’d never want to go back. Is it needed? No but it is one of those items once you have it you can’t live without it.
It looks like you’d be sacrificing the nicer seat post a bit of weight as well as the wheel quality. The cheaper one has a the canyon specific wheels while the sl8 has a standard wheel model. Realistically both are budget options so not going to be a big difference.
If you ride really rough terrain the seat post will make a big difference for that added suspension.
Another thing to consider is you can always upgrade the group set later to an electronic yourself.
I’d personally go for the electronic group set, but would pay more to keep the sl8 specs. I think the benefits of the sl8 would overshadow the electronic group set advantage as when you eventually want to replace it you can just upgrade to the electronic group set then.
