  1. 1:06.. Purmerbos in Purmerend. I saw it as meadows for years and then they started planting this area with trees in 1988 with the purpose of cutting these trees down after 25 years to be used as bio fuel for the bio-fuel city heating plant. Not the whole area was cut down at once, just a few trees at a time and replanted trees on the open spots. Wonderful multiple use area.

In the Twiske there is also a public naturist area. Lots of people of our age on a sunny day. Great swim in the clear lake.

Nice to see my own living space through your eyes. Thanks.

  2. It makes me so happy to see you enjoyed it here and i love how you spent your time here. Many other tourists should go outside of Amsterdam and see the true Netherlands. Hope we will be able to welcome you back in the future! šŸ‡³šŸ‡±šŸŒ·šŸš²šŸ»

  3. Why the HELMETS??The fact that you are riding on the bike lanes means that a helmet isnt necessary! But the people in the Netherlands dont were helmets because there is no risk of injury!!

  4. The cobblestones are left in to slow down car traffic on mixed use roads, so maybe its not as nice to cycle on, but they are helping keep you safe! Glad you liked the horses. The farm animals here are very friendly in general, you can bring a carrot to get their attention. Just watch out for cows drooling on your shoes haha
The free roaming sheep and other animals along the bike lanes are used for natural grazing, so the municipalities dont need to use mowers. Its free food for the animals and it helps the nesting birds and the insects to survive, plus it keeps our herding tradition alive.
