Hey guys, I’ve been getting into biking lately, and I’ve been borrowing my roommate’s road bike to see if I ride enough to invest in buying my own. I’ve decided to begin the hunt on FB marketplace (as you do), and came across this listing. I’m pretty set on getting a gravel bike because the road bike is too light and can’t handle some of the trails I wanna ride on, but I just want to know what all of this description means and if this price is a good deal for the 2024 cannondale topstone 3?? It seems like it’s a steal, but I have no idea. Are all of these upgrades good? Let me know- thanks!

It’s fine for a first bike, if it’s in your budget. It’ll last you a good while. Just maintain it properly.

The brakes, crankset, and bottom bracket upgrades are nice. The 11-speed free hub will help if you outgrow the components and want to put a new drivetrain on the frame. Some of the upgrades are preference, though; the seat and tires, for example.

  2. Make sure it fits you correctly. 50-52cm is for someone 5’2″ to 5’6″. That’s a pretty wide range.
