
Interested in buying this bike. These wheels seem like the only drawback as they have dated tech (narrow internal rim width). Can you safely mount a 30mm tire on them? I would want to take advantage of the Aeroad’s clearance for a wider tire.
Am I right to think that upgrading these wheels will be a necessary upgrade after purchase? To a wheel with more ‘modern’ rim specs.

There’s enough space for 32mm tires
DT Swiss max recommended tire width is 30.
I’ve mounted 32mm GP5000s on these wheels (ultimate not aeroad). Yes, they bulge a lot but I haven’t had any issues with them. 30s would probably be a better fit, but I got a good deal on 32s.
Not sure if you want to upgrade these wheels? They’re pretty good..
