34 year old bike + 37 year old car

This should fit the spirit of xbiking. I've got an 87 Corvette, it was my uncle's car that would've died in a barn if I didn't save it by shipping the car to Arizona. I do all the work on it myself. It's my daily driver, if I want to take my bike somewhere to ride it, this is it.

The bike is a 1990 diamondback ascent EX with the smoke paint job. It's built to be a true 90s MTB. I've spent most on the brakes and rear wheel build. I do my best to try and ride some trials with. It's great to have a bike you can jump around on the back wheel at a stop light then shift up and keep up with cars in the bike lane. I ride it to my ASU courses. Don't feel too bad about locking it up.

This Amazon sucker rack is my solution to bringing the bike home on the weekends so I can ride with my little brother. And also commute to the local trails.

Brakes are avid v brakes. Speed dial 7 levers (the best budget v brake levers IMO.) jagwire compression less cable removes all sponge from the levers, CNC cable ferrules. These brakes feel hydraulic. Use 4mm spacers on top of the v brakes and longer bolts paired with cheap brake boosters to reduce frame flex. They really do help if set up right.

Orgin8 pro sweep 640 aluminum bars. Still straight with a pull back that I've rotated upwards for that smiley shape. Noticably wider than the stock 560mms but still fits the look I'm going for. ODI vans lock on grips, Amazon barends which are awesome for cruising. SE bikes bear trap pedals.

1x conversion with a deckas 34 narrow wide and front derailer removed.

It's a weapon on the Arizona trails too. Rigid frame makes it nimble, hard part is getting past the short wheelbase and small 26 inch wheels. But it's a ton of fun. I can put this anywhere I put my full suspension 29"

Not for sale. Bike will stay wall mounted when I'm too old to ride it.
