It’s begging for shiny, all-metal Brake Levers, but I’d keep the rest stock. Big ol’ tires and some more rides would make it feel happy for sure.

My dad’s friend recently passed, but he had this 1983/84 Fuji Mount Fuji in the rafters of his garage where it sat for nearly 40 years. Other than the rack, it’s 100% original, including full Suntour drivetrain (with that freaking Mountech rear derailure), Sunshine cartridge bearing hubs, Ukai rims, Diacompe brakes (the date on the cables say 830411D!), Suntour dropouts, Beartrap pedals, bullmoose bar and those crazy white thumbshifter caps. Lugged double butted 4130 frame. He rode it a bit and then it’s been sitting ever since.
It’s in great condition so I am reticent to do anything with it because it’s so nice. But also, an unridden bike is a waste of a bike.
If it was yours, what would you do with it?

As original as that one is it’s kinda shame to modify it. I personally would find a frame that’s beat to X out. But it’s your bike.

Thats so fire. Keep everything as it is except some nice rolling new tires!

That’s a terrible problem. I can’t find anything to do with it, it even has the dust caps on the XC-II pedals. Get new tires and polish the chrome on the handlebars.
