Could be the new grease in the pawls, which constrains the pawls from fully engaging. It should be good after riding for a wihle. IF not you can detach the freehub and take a look at the pawls and the grease.
I would preemptively open a ticket with Wahoo support, especially if this is brand new. They’ll want the serial number and some other info, but you should engage with them while it’s still under warranty.
