  1. No bike infrastructure unless it has zero impact on roadways. No bike lanes, no extra crossings, nothing. Nothing fucks up traffic like some fuckwit cyclists

  2. I like the idea of having roads for bikes only away from car roads, maybe separated by a block of houses or businesses. Too many stories of hit and runs, and the cyclist always gets it.

  3. Certain design guidelines work, others dont. Have seen a ton af places that chop off random crap that makes cycling a ton riskier. 'We added a bicycle lane that passes from the leftmost lane to the rightmost lane over a length of 50 ft and then back leftmost after another 20 ft so that they are able to turn' type stuff.

Certain places are redesignable for bike infrastructure, others cant be.

  4. Unless you can ride year round, they are redundant. The places that meet this criteria are very very few. They are at best expensive recreational areas, ar cost of everyone else.

Bike lanes should be dedicated and bikers should be made to pay for them, if they want them. Dont steal them from paying road users.

  5. it's not completely true though, traffic engineers are still allowed to fully repave roads without having to narrow the wide road nor add traffic calming measures.
