Greetings. Much as the title suggests I am seeking assistance with a warranty issue. On November 29, 2022 I ordered a SONdelux hub from Rene Herse, theses generator hubs have a five year warranty that covers defective materials or workmanship and state that they will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Rene Herse Cycles. Late in 2024 the hub began to have play as evidenced in these videos. I contacted Rene Herse, they said "If you feel that the product failed due to faults in materials or workmanship, please send it in. We will inspect it, and if the failure is covered under our warranty, we'll replace the product or give you a refund", and "Please allow 2-3 weeks for inspecting your product and processing your warranty claim." I have two other SON hubs that have functioned for years without issue. SON states that "SON Nabendynamo bearings are sealed on both sides; they are lifetime-lubricated grooved ball bearings. Normally they run maintenance-free for many 10 thousands of kilometers and need neither lubrication nor adjustment. Should a fault nevertheless occur the bearings will be replaced by the manufacturer". At any rate, I sent the hub in, they received it on October 17, 2024, a month later they indicated, after my prodding, that they sent it in for repair, or replacement. At this point it has 15 weeks, I have requested that the hub be returned, or be issued a refund. They have not responded to messages for the last three weeks and I am at a loss, they do not have a phone number to contact, I do not know what to do. I am very far from a rich man, I saved up to purchase this hub and, I just want to ride my gravel bike. Is anyone on this sub able to help? Perhaps know where SON hubs are sent? Maybe have a relationship with Rene Herse? At any rate, thanks for reading.

That’s terrible, I’ve never had contact with Rene Herse since I’ve never bought anything from them, but always figured they were a decent company.
As far as I know, the Son hubs get sent back to Germany for repairs. I may be wrong though…
I believe they will take the wheel apart (unlace the hub from the rim) and send only the hub back to SON to avoid sending the whole wheel back.
I would contact Rene Herse through Instagram to see if someone responds through there.
If there is no response, maybe try contacting son through Instagram as well.
