Noticed when inspecting my bike today after a ride, that the component on the derailleur that secures the cable has bent outwards. Also noticed that in stronger gears, my chain is now rubbing and creating the dreaded chain on metal noise. Any tips?

The cable? No.
The dirt? Yes lol
Can’t tell 100% but the cable seems to be routed incorrectly
The grinding could be caused by this derailleur being out of adjustment, so loosen the cable bolt to adjust the cable tension. You’ll be able to check if that cable retention plate behaves ok. If the cable keeps slipping, you may need to bodge something together, or replace the whole derailleur
I don’t think that component is bent. I think your derailleur cable is not routed correctly. The cable is supposed to be clamped by the piece that you think is bent but it is supposed to be clamped higher, up there where this a little bit of relief.
