Gear issue – do I need a new cassette? I was having a horrible issue where my bike was skipping multiple teeth, (worse in high gears). My mech had seemed to get a bit sticky and not keeping tension (Deore XT), so I replaced it with a new one and a new chain. Hanger looks straight.

Continued: cable seems pretty good, but maybe has a little too much friction?
Im going to replace the hanger and keep current for spare, and new cable (and recomendations?) but was wondering if I need a new cassette too? Its only done about 1300 km, chain that came off it was still in good condition.
I’d take it to a shop instead of blindly replacing parts.
A casette should last much longer than just 1300km.
Did you measure the old chain with a chain gauge?
