Just got this Trek 730 to fix up. What do y’all think? Looking at frame pics if it online it looks like the frame had a slight bend here from factory but mine has become exaggerated maybe? Any input would be appreciated.
Looks normal to me. Tube is bent for tire clearance i believe.

If you want to double check you can do an alignment check. Run a piece of string from one dropout, around the head tube, and back to the other dropout. The space between the string and the seat tube should be the same on both sides.

That is by design. Aside from just knowing that it is from a very long time working in shops and seeing thousands of frames from this era, you can also tell from the paint. The paint all looks smooth and undamaged throughout the depression. Given that it has the original badging and there is that little scratch with rust on the drive side stay, it hasn’t been repainted. They did that for tire clearance like someone else said.
