An unpleasant surprise: my wheels are damaged and I have no idea how it happened. Can‘t remember an impact that could have caused this and the bike is only a few months old.
Anyway: Do you think it is a good idea to just paint it black? If yes any recommendations or advice?

Why not leave it as-is?
Definitely touch it up. Tape off the surrounding area, and a little bit of matte black spray paint will make it basically unnoticeable.
If these are the LN one, it’s a good opportunity to Upgrade now. 😀
