Okay, sanity check please.
In terms of fit and function these two styles of crankset are identical Yes? I want to replace my sram rival with sram red on my 2023 Emonda while simultaneously going to a dual sided pedal based meter. I can only find the gearing and crank size in the new model.

last years model. probably some minor material changes but unlikely that you could notice
I would seriously avoid this model. The PM and chainrings are one unit so when they wear out you have to replace your PM as well. They give you a discount of 50% (I think) if you are the original owner, I think that would impact resale as well.
I’m looking to do the same thing on my trek checkpoint, except 1x chain ring and no PM. It’s over 400gm weight saving.
The 2023 model also is only available in limited length/chainring combinations on CC, which is probably another reason for the price difference
